Fire protection in SIAFS will be met through a variety of strategies typical of all current floor construction methods.
OUR VISION--
SIAFS can provide a one-hour separation between floors by adding gypsum to the underside of the lower deck assembly. We can sprinkler the cavity, or deck assembly with plenum, between the upper and lower deck assembly. Intumescent paint would be another option. In rated construction, we would use calcium sulfate floor tiles which have a one-hour rating. We could wrap the cold formed steel joints ("CFSJ") in gypsum drywall as required. The gasket between the floor tiles and the supporting CFSJs would be made of a fireproof material.
